As Reuters writes, the full opening of borders around the world can occur no earlier than mid-2021. This was announced by the head of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Alexander de Junac.

The opening of air borders will be facilitated by widespread vaccination against coronavirus and widespread testing in countries around the world, which is extremely important, since some passengers may refuse vaccinations.

According to the head of IATA, there are already airlines in the world that intend to make vaccination a prerequisite for flights, for example, the Australian Qantas.

The association calculated that during the pandemic, the world’s air carriers will lose about $ 157 billion, and the passenger traffic by the end of 2020 will decrease from 4.5 to 1.8 billion people. Passenger revenues will decline 69% to $ 191 billion.
